About The Vermont Hotel
The Vermont occupies the former County Hall on Castle Garth, the classical building that served as the headquarters of Northumberland County Council before being converted into a hotel. Its 1930s character survives in the public rooms, and the hotel's own wedding pages confirm that the Ballroom was once the county council chamber. The building stands beside the Castle Keep and the Black Gate, with the High Level Bridge and the Quayside stairs a short walk downhill. In-house venues include The Maven restaurant, the Redwood Bar and a rooftop Sky Lounge and Garden. Functions use the Ballroom and the Gold Room. The published Christmas 2026 programme prices a Christmas Party Night at £45.95 per person for a welcome drink, two courses and a DJ, starting 7:30pm and finishing at midnight, and the Black and Gold Christmas Party at £58.95 for three courses plus a magician, running 7pm to midnight. Both run on Fridays and Saturdays from 27 November to 19 December, booked with a £10 deposit and full payment six weeks ahead. Party-night bedrooms start at £65 per person on Fridays and £75 on Saturdays. Central Station is a few minutes' walk.
