About Lane7 Newcastle

Lane7 is a boutique bowling and games bar on St James' Boulevard, a few minutes' walk west of Grainger Town and close to St James' Park. It began as a Newcastle original before growing into a national group, and the flagship city venue keeps the mix that made the format popular: ten-pin bowling on full-size lanes alongside a spread of other games rather than bowling on its own. The interior is deliberately loud and colourful, built for groups, and it works as much for a family afternoon as for an evening out.

Beyond the lanes there is duck-pin bowling, mini golf, private karaoke rooms, American pool, ping pong, batting cages, darts and a retro arcade, so a wet afternoon can move from one activity to the next without leaving the building. A kitchen serves pizzas, burgers, hot dogs and sharing plates, with a full bar alongside, and lanes and rooms can be booked in advance, which is sensible at weekends and in the school holidays. Opening hours run later into the evening on Fridays and Saturdays, and the venue is a short walk from Central Station and the Grainger Town Metro stops.
