About SwimNE at Sport Central

SwimNE describes itself as the North East's largest independent swim school, teaching children from age 4 in small groups, with private one-to-one lessons for children who need extra support. Alongside its own PaddlePod pools in North Tyneside, it has taught at Northumbria University's Sport Central for many years, making it the main city-centre option for children's lessons.

At Sport Central, SwimNE runs classes every Saturday and Sunday for children working through stages 1 to 10, from complete beginners to pre-competitive swimmers. The 25-metre pool ranges from about one metre deep at the shallow end to two metres at the deep end. Lessons are paid by monthly direct debit over a 39-week teaching year, and parents manage bookings through the DoDays online customer portal.
