Happy Yoga Newcastle

A friendly city-centre yoga studio on Carliol Square founded in 2015 by Senior Yoga Teacher Jo Hutton, known for beginner-friendly, light-hearted classes and pregnancy yoga.

About Happy Yoga Newcastle

Happy Yoga Newcastle was founded in 2015 by Jo Hutton, a Yoga Alliance Professionals Senior Yoga Teacher, and runs its classes from a bright, centrally heated studio in British India House on Carliol Square, a few minutes' walk from Monument and Manors. The studio is reached through the door signposted Digital Colour Copy Bureau and up one flight of stairs, and it shares the space with Mindful Therapies. Its philosophy is that yoga should be enjoyable, and its classes explicitly welcome 'unfit, un-bendy beginners' as well as runners, cyclists and new parents.

The timetable spans beginners, all-levels and intermediate yoga, pregnancy and postnatal classes, with private and corporate sessions available on request, and an online studio with live and on-demand classes alongside the in-person ones. Classes must be booked in advance through the website or booking app, as payment cannot be taken at the door, and mats and equipment are provided. Metered on-street parking is outside, and the Manors multi-storey car park is a two-minute walk away. Jo also runs the Newcastle Yoga School for teacher training.
