Climb Newcastle

One of the largest dedicated bouldering centres in the region, a short hop east of the city centre in Byker with walls for all abilities.

About Climb Newcastle

Climb Newcastle is a dedicated bouldering centre based at The Pool on Shipley Place in Byker, a short journey east of the city centre and easily reached by Metro or bus. It is one of the largest facilities of its kind in the region, with a main climbing arena, a cellar room, a training room and a coaching and kids' room, plus changing rooms, a cafe, a shop and chill-out areas. Being rope-free bouldering, it is beginner-friendly and needs minimal kit, with taster sessions and coaching for newcomers.

Entry works on a pay-as-you-go day-ticket basis with block passes and memberships for regulars, so there is no long contract. It is the standout choice for anyone wanting a social, skill-based workout rather than a treadmill session, and suits climbers of all abilities from complete beginners to advanced problem-solvers. Note that it sits just outside the core city centre in Byker, but it is close enough to count as a central option.
