About Newcastle Eagles Community Foundation (Vertu Motors Arena)
The Vertu Motors Arena on Scotswood Road, just west of the city centre, opened in 2019 as the home of the Newcastle Eagles, one of the most successful clubs in British basketball. The arena is operated by the Eagles Community Foundation, the club's charity, which uses it for community sport, junior basketball and events as well as professional games.
The Foundation runs school holiday camps across the academic year, catering for children picking up a basketball for the first time through to junior players wanting to develop, with recent summers offering both skills-focused and more relaxed holiday activity days. Camps and sessions are announced and booked through the Eagles' online portal, the Nest.
