International House Newcastle

British Council-accredited English language school and teacher-training centre on Gallowgate, also running evening Spanish courses for adults.

About International House Newcastle

International House Newcastle has provided English language teaching and teacher training since 1978 from its school on Gallowgate, a few minutes from Haymarket and St James' Park. It is accredited by the British Council under the Accreditation UK scheme, and its English courses include General English, Business English, Intensive one-to-one English and preparation for Cambridge and IELTS exams. It is also a centre for CELTA and DELTA, the Cambridge qualifications for teachers of English as a foreign language.

For local learners, the school runs evening Spanish group courses one evening a week for twelve weeks, on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 6pm to 8pm, at levels from complete beginner (A1) to upper-intermediate (B2). The minimum age for evening classes is 16, and private one-to-one Spanish lessons can be arranged to suit individual times and start dates.
