West Road Crematorium
Newcastle City Council's crematorium on West Road in Fenham, with two chapels and landscaped grounds open to visitors every day.
About West Road Crematorium
West Road Crematorium in Fenham is run by Newcastle City Council's Bereavement Services and is where most cremations in the city take place. It has two chapels: the wheelchair-accessible West Chapel seats about 180 people and the East Chapel about 165. Cremation services take place on weekdays, and funeral directors normally book the date and time on a family's behalf.
The grounds are open to visitors every day, with longer hours from April to October and shorter winter hours from November to March. Bereavement Services, whose office is at the Civic Centre, also manages the city's cemeteries and can answer questions about fees, memorials and arranging a visit to see the facilities.
