The Town Wall stands on Pink Lane, under a hundred yards from Newcastle Central Station and its Metro entrance, and takes its name from the medieval town wall that ran along this western edge of the old city. It is one of the Vaulkhard Group's larger city-centre pubs, with a comfortable, broken-up interior and a drinks list that runs well beyond the usual, taking in international beers, wines, champagnes, gins and cocktails.

Food is served through the day, from light bites and lunches to evening meals, and the Sunday roast is an established fixture with a choice that typically covers beef, chicken and pork plus a vegetarian option. Its position by the station makes it a natural first or last stop of a day in the city, and it sits in the same short stretch of Pink Lane as several of the centre's independent coffee shops and bars. Booking is sensible at weekends.
