About Pleased to Meet You

Pleased to Meet You opened in 2013 in a Grade II listed former hotel on High Bridge, the narrow lane running between Grey Street and Pilgrim Street in the heart of Grainger Town. The renovation turned the old building into a contemporary gin and draught house, and the bar is the headline: more than fifty gins alongside a rotating range of local and international craft beers, hand-pulled cask ales, cocktails and spirits.

The kitchen is more serious than the gin-bar billing suggests, working with locally sourced ingredients across a menu of small and large plates. Sunday is its strongest day, with a roast menu offering several joints plus a version that puts a trio of meats on one plate, and restaurant service continuing into the evening rather than stopping mid-afternoon as most city-centre roasts do. That makes it one of the few places in the centre where you can sit down to a roast at six o'clock.
