Colonel Porter's Emporium

A 1920s-themed bar and restaurant in Milburn House on Dean Street, with a rum and gin bar and several dark-wood, speakeasy-style spaces.

About Colonel Porter's Emporium

Colonel Porter's Emporium occupies part of the grand Milburn House on Dean Street, a short walk up from the Quayside, and trades on a 1920s theme across a warren of dark-wood, speakeasy-style rooms. Alongside its restaurant it runs a dedicated rum and gin bar, and the mix of period detailing, low lighting and characterful spaces gives it a distinct sense of occasion compared with the more modern bars nearby.

Dean Street is one of the steepest and most historic streets in the city, linking the shopping core to the river, and Colonel Porter's makes the most of the Edwardian architecture of Milburn House around it. It suits a longer, seated evening of cocktails and food rather than a quick drink, and its central position between Grey Street and the Quayside puts it within a few minutes' walk of both.
