About Cafe Filto at Fenwick

Filto opened its flagship in Sandyford in August 2024 and took a concession inside Fenwick on Northumberland Street before expanding it into a full cafe, which opened on the lower ground floor on 23 January 2026. It is an independent operation trading inside the city's department store rather than a chain concession, which makes it a useful stop if you want something other than the standard in-store coffee counter while shopping.

The offer runs from breakfast through hand-made lunches to specialty coffee and cocktails, and it carries one of the deeper matcha lists in Newcastle, with blueberry, banana bread, tiramisu and dulce de leche versions alongside the plain. Fenwick's Northumberland Street entrance puts it about a minute from Monument Metro, and the lower ground floor location means it stays quiet even when the store above is busy.
