About 100 Grey Street

100 Grey Street occupies a unit of the Theatre Royal, the Grade I listed 1837 building by John and Benjamin Green that anchors the sweep of Grey Street. The space had been a cocktail bar before coming back under the theatre's ownership, and it reopened in November 2024 as a coffee and wine bar run by the theatre itself, which is a charitable trust. It is one of very few places where you can drink specialty coffee on Grey Street proper, which makes it the natural pause on a Grainger Town walk.

Coffee comes from Baristocracy, the North Shields roastery, alongside a wine list from Eden Fine Wines, cocktails, bar snacks and a bakery counter including croissants. The day-to-night format means it works as a morning coffee stop, an afternoon break from the shops and a pre-show drink, and being attached to the theatre it keeps performance-day hours. Monument Metro is a minute up the street.
