
Jane Eyre at Northern Stage
A new touring stage adaptation of Charlotte Bronte's Jane Eyre, directed by Lily Dyble, on Northern Stage's Stage 1.
About This Event
Charlotte Bronte's novel comes to Northern Stage in a co-production from Mercury Theatre Colchester, Rose Theatre Kingston and Storyhouse Chester. The story follows orphaned Jane from her escape from a cruel aunt to her post as governess to the mysterious Mr Rochester, and the choice she must make between love and her own integrity and independence. The production is directed by Lily Dyble, winner of the 2025 RTST Sir Peter Hall Director Award, with set design by Anna Yates, costumes by Khadija Raza, music and sound by Joseff Harris and lighting by Lucia Sanchez Roldan. Performances run Tuesday 3 to Saturday 7 November on Stage 1, with evening shows at 7:30pm (6pm on Thursday) and 2:30pm matinees on Wednesday and Saturday. Running time is around 2 hours 30 minutes including an interval; recommended for ages 12 and over (contains strong language, violence, references to suicide, haze, smoke, flashing lights and live flame).
