Zaap Thai
Walk-in Thai street food restaurant on Newgate Street styled as a Bangkok market, with tuk-tuk and bus seating, an open kitchen and a menu of more than 80 dishes.
About Zaap Thai
Zaap Thai on Newgate Street is the Newcastle branch of a northern Thai street food group that recreates a Bangkok street market indoors, with neon lighting, graffiti, tuk-tuks and a converted bus to sit in. An open kitchen works through a menu of more than 80 street food dishes, and the restaurant is walk-in only, with no bookings taken.
At weekends it runs the Bangkok Brunch Club bottomless brunch, and food can also be ordered for click and collect or delivery. It is a short walk from Chinatown and Central Station, and suits groups and families who want to share a spread of dishes.
