About The Trent House
The Trent House sits on Leazes Lane between the city centre and Leazes Park, a short walk from both St James' Park and the Haymarket. It has a long reputation as one of Newcastle's genuinely independent pubs, friendly and laid back rather than polished, and is a fixture for students, match-day crowds and regulars in roughly equal measure. Cask ales change regularly, including beers from Consett Ales, and CAMRA members get a discount on cask.
The pub is best known to many for its jukebox, heavy on soul, Motown and northern soul, and for a Sunday evening quiz that draws a steady crowd. There is a function room upstairs and the pub opens from noon daily.
