Square
Detroit-style pizza counter on Market Street selling deep, square pan pizza by the slice or as full pies.
About Square
Square brought Detroit-style pizza to Newcastle city centre. The dough is proved for 48 hours and baked deep in blue steel pans, so the cheese caramelises into a crisp edge, with the sauce added on top. Pizza is sold by the slice or as full pies.
It is a small counter operation near Monument. Walk-ins are welcome and counter seats can be reserved, while parties of five or more should phone ahead. It opens from noon daily, until 9.30pm Sunday to Thursday and 10pm on Friday and Saturday.
