About Eats Cafe
Eats Cafe sits in the Grainger Arcade with an open-plan seating area rather than a counter-and-stools arrangement, and it takes table service once you are sat down, which is unusual among the market's food traders. It is one of the easier places in the market to sit with a pot of tea and not feel rushed, and it holds a top food hygiene rating from its most recent inspection.
What sets the kitchen apart is its supply chain: the market's own description is of classic British dishes made with seasonal ingredients from producers within the Grainger Market, so the bacon and sausage in a breakfast have usually travelled a few metres from one of the butchers' counters. Cooked breakfasts, bacon sandwiches and eggs on toast lead the morning menu. Open Monday to Saturday from 8am to 5pm; the market is closed on Sundays and bank holidays.
