About Dennis & June's Sandwich Fare
Dennis & June's is a counter-service stall on Alley 2, and it does one thing extremely well: hot sandwiches made to order. Bacon and sausage are the mainstays, cooked as you wait, and the meat comes from the butchers trading a few metres away inside the same hall, which is the whole argument for eating breakfast in the Grainger Market rather than on the street outside.
Jacket potatoes fill out the rest of the menu, and it has long been a fixture for city-centre workers picking up something on the way in. It holds a top food hygiene rating from its most recent inspection. Open Monday to Saturday from 9.30am to 4pm and closed on Sundays; there is no table service, so this is a takeaway or a perch rather than a sit-down brunch.
