Malian guitar great Samba Toure brings his hypnotic desert-blues grooves to Cobalt Studios. A protege of the legendary Ali Farka Toure, he threads traditional Malian melody through contemporary electric guitar for a sound that is both rooted and utterly absorbing. Opening the night is Kenyan singer-songwriter and nyatiti virtuoso Rapasa Nyatrapasa Otieno, whose lyre-led Luo storytelling makes a fitting complement.
