About This Event

Tchaikovsky's Eugene Onegin follows Tatyana, a young woman who falls desperately for the cynical Onegin, only to be rejected. Years later they meet again when she is married and a prominent figure in St Petersburg society, and Onegin realises too late that he loves her. This Opera North production, a co-production with Irish National Opera and Opera Queensland, reimagines the story in 1980s Russia. It is sung in Russian with English titles and runs about 3 hours 15 minutes including an interval. PG guide: contains themes of death, grief and gun violence.
