A kilometre-long after-dark light trail through Leazes Park, running nightly from 20 November to 31 December with a new theme and route for 2026.
About This Event
Northern Lights is an after-dark illuminated trail laid out over roughly a kilometre of Leazes Park, a few minutes' walk from St James' Park and the top of the city centre. The 2026 edition has a new theme and a redrawn trail map, with entry from 4.15pm and closing times that vary by date. Tickets are timed and booked in advance through See Tickets, with pricing simplified for 2026 into peak and off-peak tiers. Two neuro-inclusive evenings are scheduled for visitors who would find a busy, high-stimulus trail difficult. The trail runs nightly from Friday 20 November through to Thursday 31 December 2026.
