BAFTA-winning writer and performer Jack Rooke, best known for the Channel 4 series Big Boys, brings his acclaimed comedy-theatre show Good Grief back to the stage a decade on from its Edinburgh Fringe debut. This retrospective staging revisits and expands the original, co-written with his then-80-year-old grandmother Sicely, weaving together grief, ambition and class with Rooke's trademark warmth and wit. Tender, funny and disarmingly honest, it charts his journey from spoken-word performer to television writer while reflecting on the loss of his father. Staged at Northern Stage, it is a moving and generous night of storytelling for anyone who likes their comedy with real heart.
