Blue Flames Sporting Club at Whitley Park in Benton runs its display on 5 November itself, which makes it unusual — most displays across the region move to the nearest weekend. Gates open at 5.30pm and the fireworks go up at 7.30pm. Its position makes it the most convenient option for a lot of people in the east of Newcastle. It is about five minutes from Benton Metro on the yellow line, and within easy reach of Heaton, Jesmond and Longbenton. Tickets are sold online in advance and there are no sales on the gate, so book before you travel.
